FC Walk and 5K Run

Join friends, family and community as we walk together to create a greater acceptance and understanding of the unique needs and the unique gifts of people with special needs. Join over 2,000 others for a jam-packed day with family-friendly activities, food and entertainment! Oh yeah, and a walk.

Outdoor Sports

Join us for fun in the sun! Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities under the guidance of a coach and teen volunteers. Parents/guardians must remain with their children at all times.

Adult Mornings: Tuesday

A weekly program that will allow adults to participate in a variety of woodworking, creative art activities, art skills, and culinary preparation while enjoying social time with peers in the community.

Lunch will be made and enjoyed by participants.

Safetalk Training Workshop

  • Acquire the skills you need to identify and help a friend in need
  • Get trained in suicide alertness skills.
  • Learn to apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe
  • Become a UMatter ambassador

Receive safeTALK certification upon completion.

For ages 15 and up

 

After School: Tuesday

Tuesday after-school children and teens will enjoy two hours of swimming, participating in culinary activities, and exploring their creativity with art and games. They will also benefit from the support and companionship of a teenage volunteer throughout the evening. Dinner and early drop-off is available upon request.

Culinary Adventures #2

This one-of-a-kind weekly program is designed to help participants gain the skills they need to prepare their own dinner, including planning, shopping at LifeTown’s own ShopRite, cooking, and setting and clearing the table.

Sports #2

Join us for pizza dinner followed by fun in the gym led by a sports coach and teenage volunteers. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of sports, as well as activities including floor bowling and scooters.

Sports and Social Time #2

Join us for pizza dinner followed by fun in the gym led by a sports coach and teenage volunteers. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of sports.

Following the fun, participants will be assisting with a variety of goal-oriented projects, gaining practice listening to instructions about how to perform a task, completing the task together as a group, and delivering the finished product to the appropriate location.

Art and Cooking #2

This one-of-a-kind weekly program guides participants through the steps of preparing their own meal, beginning at LifeTown’s own ShopRite, all the way through making dinner and dessert. Once dinner is in the oven, participants work on an art project and then – most important – get to enjoy the fruits of their labor for dinner!
