Learn to celebrate the superpowers that enable teens to triumph in the face of adversity. Discover real life stories of individuals who have overcome obstacles by tapping into their inner strength.

A panel discussion with former top NBA Draft Pick from the NY Knicks and collegiate All-American Mike Sweetney. And international professional baskbetball All-Star and the only known NBA Player with Multiple Sclerosis, Chris Wright.

UMatter creates opportunities for peer support, and gives you the tools to help friends who are struggling with mental health challenges.

FC Walk and 5K Run

Join friends, family and community as we walk together to create a greater acceptance and understanding of the unique needs and the unique gifts of people with special needs. Join over 2,000 others for a jam-packed day with family-friendly activities, food and entertainment! Oh yeah, and a walk.

Outdoor Sports

Join us for fun in the sun! Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities under the guidance of a coach and teen volunteers. Parents/guardians must remain with their children at all times.

Safetalk Training Workshop

  • Acquire the skills you need to identify and help a friend in need
  • Get trained in suicide alertness skills.
  • Learn to apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe
  • Become a UMatter ambassador

For ages 15 and up

 

After School: Tuesday

Tuesday after-school children and teens will enjoy two hours of swimming, participating in culinary activities, and exploring their creativity with art and games. They will also benefit from the support and companionship of a teenage volunteer throughout the evening. Dinner and early drop-off is available upon request.

Join us for pizza dinner followed by fun in the gym led by a sports coach and teenage volunteers. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of sports, as well as activities including floor bowling and scooters.
